Our Homebound Ministry offers a wonderful opportunity to be a source of Christ’s peace and love for others. One of the most meaningful ways we do this is by bringing the Eucharist to our fellow Catholics who, due to health or other special circumstances, can’t attend Mass. This includes those in nursing homes, rehabilitation centers, assisted living facilities, or those receiving care at home. If you or someone you love would like to receive Communion at home, we’re here for you! Simply call our Parish Office at 434-812-2936, and we’ll connect you with our Homebound Ministry team.
We currently visit residents at English Meadows and The Lodge at Old Trail. Every Wednesday at 3 p.m., we bring comfort and the Eucharist to residents at English Meadows, spending meaningful time with them in their rooms. On the 3rd Wednesday of the month, Monsignor celebrates Mass, and our Eucharistic Ministers assist with setup, and reading the 1st Reading and the Psalm. At The Lodge at Old Trail, we celebrate Mass with Fr. Joseph on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month at 3 p.m. in the 3rd-floor dining room. On the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Thursdays, we offer a Communion service and visit residents who weren’t able to attend.
If you’ve been trained as an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist at Our Lady of the Rosary, we warmly invite you to consider joining this special ministry. The joy and gratitude you’ll see in the faces of those you serve is truly a blessing unlike any other.
